¿Qué es la equidad de género?

Hoy en día se habla de “Equidad de Género” para entender que siguen existiendo desigualdades que sesgan nuestra convivencia social y acceso a derechos que son totalmente humanos y a los cuales, en tanto seres humanos, somos dignos de poseer, lo cual se traduce en riesgos considerables en salud, educación, economía e incluso política.

La construcción lingüística de Equidad de Género, está conformada de dos conceptos que se complementan: “Equidad”, que hace referencia al proceso que garantiza el acceso a habilidades, saberes, destrezas y oportunidades a hombres y mujeres, al permitir una igualdad en condiciones de vida; mientras que “Género” hace referencia a algo más allá del sexo biológico, a un proceso por el cual nos apropiamos de un estilo y formas de vida, una identidad y una manera de vivir nuestra compleja subjetividad en relación con los otros y con el mundo, así como roles de género que fungen como códigos que determinan las acciones propias de una mujer y de un hombre, situando en desventaja a la mujer, generalmente.

 

Hoy en día, aún no está totalmente permitido o aceptado que las mujeres obtengan puestos directivos, que lideren una campaña o que obtengan mayores estudios que la licenciatura, como resultado de un estigma de debilidad que, históricamente, se le ha asignado al género femenino, y con ello a sus derivaciones. No obstante, además de la miniminización de la mujer, surgen otros grupos y comunidades que se sitúan en marginación sociocultural, tales como los miembros de la comunidad LGBTTTIQ, personas en situación de calle, personas con alguna infección de transmisión sexual, personas de color, migrantes, pertenecientes a alguna etnia o raza, etc.

 

Simone de Beauvoir, aguerrida feminista, dijo en su momento que “No se nace mujer, se llega a serlo”, con lo cual indicó que la palabra “mujer” es un concepto abstracto cargado de etiquetas que una fémina debe cumplir, pues, de no hacerlo, la sociedad la segrega a tal grado de excluirla y marginarla para no tener peso ni presencia en asuntos trascendentes de una cultura, de una sociedad o de una nación en sí. Podemos ver que algo similar sucede con los hombres, quienes también deben de cumplir con ciertas expectativas de “fortaleza” y liderazgo, pero un liderazgo entendido casi en sentido primitivo, en donde es el líder el que tiene que sostener, única y exclusivamente él, el hogar, la familia, la empresa, la escuela, la nación, etc., lo cual trae consigo ciertas pautas de comportamiento social, colectivo e individual para poder ser incluido en sociedad y ser visto como lo que debe ser un hombre y lo que debe ser, por otro lado, una mujer, dictada por el discurso machista sostenido históricamente por la estructura patriarcal.

 

Si entendemos que, estructuralmente, se es hombre o se es mujer, y que en términos concretos, hombre se refiere a fortaleza, mientras que mujer se refiere a debilidad y/o sometimiento, no cabría duda de que quien no es fuerte, automáticamente pasa a ser débil, como es el caso de los homosexuales, lesbianas, bisexuales, transexuales, etc., quienes no cumplen con normas establecidas por la heteronorma que, aún en siglo XXI impera en nuestra estructura sociocultural.

 

Por último, la equidad de género apela por la no discriminación y la inclusión de las poblaciones marginadas por la sociedad, a una libre y sana convivencia entre géneros, optando así por políticas que den acceso a servicios tecnológicos y financieros que abarquen dichas poblaciones. Así también, equilibrar la distribución del trabajo y salario, entendiendo que lo justo no es unilateral, sino una manera de otorgar los privilegios, derechos y obligaciones en función de las características físicas, psicológicas, sociales, culturales, de etnia, de raza, de sexo, medioambientales, etc.

 

Generemos conciencia sobre el asunto que nos atañe a los que nos encontramos en marginación, y no sucumbamos ante la negativa de la sociedad, pues de nuestra unión y nuestro activismo sustentado depende nuestro porvenir y una mejor convivencia intercultural, sana e incluyente, donde las diferencias formen parte de la igualdad de derechos y la equidad permita acceder al disfrute y goce de la vida.
